3 new windows installed. Installers Rodion and Karen were fantastic. Prepared our home well before starting, cleaned everything up. Gave us good instructions. They were great. Didn’t rush. So far windows look great. Definitely recommend this company.
We recently had Andersen of BC come and give us an estimate to replace a number of our windows. We decided to go with a sliding door in our dining room and window in our kitchen to start with. The sales presentation was well done. Our sales rep Rick was helpful and provided us with a lot of information and multiple scenarios. Be prepared for about 2 hours or so if you are looking at any more than 1 or 2 replacements. Many people likely would find the sales approach to be high pressure. But that was what I expected and so I had no issues with their approach. The other concern I've seen online is the cost. Andersen definitely is not a cheap option. However, after seeing the results of our installation, I am more than happy with the value we have received. Everyone involved in the process has been easy to deal with and provided excellent customer service and replied quickly to any questions. One recommendation I would give is to make sure you have thought over exactly what options you want before starting the process. We followed up about the possibility of adding the removable grille option for our kitchen window a couple days after the order had been sent in. Unfortunately, even though this is a clip in grille, because the order had been sent to their fabrication team already, the only way to add it would be to cancel the order and re-start which included about a $250 USD fee in addition to the cost of the grille. So, in the end we opted not to do that. While it was a bit disappointing, it wasn't a major issue for us. Just something to consider before you finalize any orders. The installation team was amazing. They arrived on time, were super professional and the quality of the install was fantastic! Our furniture and counters in the areas of the install were covered and protected and when they were finished everything was cleaned 100%. The finishing work on the trim is excellent, both inside and out. The old kitchen window that was replaced had trim that was flush with the tile around it. I was a bit concerned that there could be damage from removing it during the process, but they did a great job and removed it without any issues.I can't speak for all Renewal by Andersen outfits, but I can definitely recommend the BC group based in the Okanagan. Rick, Mike, Ken and our installer Roman were professional and easy to work with. If you are looking for a premium window or door replacement and impeccable installation, then give them a call.
Dustin was very helpful in solving my window design in North Vancouver to suit the house aesthetics. Very impressed with Dustin’s professional work…Installation team (Mikhail and Vlad) were excellent and installed the windows very professionally. They were attentive to ensuring that everything was to my satisfaction. Mikhail even repaired the flashing to ensure no leaks.Thank you
I chose this quote of the four I got, even though it was the highest, because they were able to do some custom work I wanted, and I thought the windows would be higher quality. They convinced be to go with 2-pane instead of 3-pane, saying I would have no issues in our climate and it would save me money and be basically the same. That was a big mistake. On hot days I get so much heat coming off the windows that I can't sit near comfortably near them, and there's a difference of as much as 10 degrees C between the coolest parts of the rooms and the places near the windows. It's similar in winter—I'm sitting here now by one and feeling the cold emanating from it into the house. There's major condensation every morning (the photos are of condensation on the inside). I have to keep the blinds shut in both summary and winter to try to provide extra insulation. They came out once to look at things and said they'd follow up but never did. I had hoped to have these windows for life, and given what I paid I will certainly never be able to replace them. This was an enormously disappointing experience to end up with such substandard thermal protection after making such a big investment. Looking at the other reviews, I see others have had similar experiences—Renewal convinces you that the premium you pay is for a premium price and service, but that's just not true. I regret my purchase and feel taken advantage of.The custom work they did on the handful of windows that needed it was really nice. If I had this to do over again, I would have them do only those windows, and another vendor do all the others, with all of them being done in triple pane. Don't believe them when they tell you double pane will be just as good.
Our experience with Renewal by Anderson was great! They were over the top in every aspect to ensure the best experience. The windows are pricey, but the team we had and the one day installation despite a huge hiccup (old house surprise), along with the beauty and ease of use, makes it worth it. We will use them again when we do more and highly recommend! [Photos of how they cover the floor and space.]
