Update: The contractor is now relying on fine-print language in the contract claiming they can cancel at any time due to pricing errors or additional installation requirements. From a regulatory standpoint, this is not how the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) typically evaluates such clauses. CSLB expects contractors to conduct a thorough site assessment before offering and executing a contract and to include all foreseeable installation requirements in the agreed price. Fine-print provisions are interpreted narrowly and cannot be used to avoid performance simply because a project later becomes less profitable or inconvenient. When a contract has already been signed following an on-site evaluation, CSLB generally requires the contractor to perform the work as contracted at the agreed price, including all promised warranties, rather than attempt unilateral cancellation or material-only delivery. To avoid this practice, CSLB requires contractors to improve pre-contract assessments, price projects accurately upfront, and refrain from using broad fine print to alter or abandon executed agreements. Despite this, the company continues to refuse to honor the contract, which has resulted in ongoing delay and escalation to CSLB.

American Vision Window has acted in an untrustworthy and unprofessional manner by refusing to honor a duly signed contract, claiming after the fact that the promotional price was unprofitable and alleging that the sales representative made a mistake. After the contract was executed, the company improperly raised new concerns, including an alleged need for additional installation work, and a manager demanded an extra $1,600, which is unacceptable and contrary to basic contract law, as no post-contract modifications can be imposed unilaterally. The company further attempted to avoid its lifetime installation warranty by proposing to supply parts only while refusing installation, and then went so far as to attempt to unilaterally cancel the contract altogether. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and notified the company’s CEO, who has likewise refused to provide any reasonable solution. This conduct is wrong and should not be allowed, and I believe all relevant regulatory and consumer protection agencies should be made aware of these practices. I am formally requesting that American Vision Window fulfill all terms and conditions exactly as agreed in the executed contract. Due to the company’s lack of cooperation and repeated refusals, my window project has now been delayed for more than a month, and I am seeking a prompt and fair resolution.

Best experience with a paid service. From start to finish it was such a great process. we worked with Val to purchase the windows. he was very informative and not pushy at all. made us feed very comfy with the decision to purchase. took about 8 weeks for windows. our install crew was gary, alex, eddie, gavin, charles, eric, and sam. we were so impressed when they all pulled up.when they said it was going to be done in a day we giggled and thought no way. but man they started at 9 and we’re done by 130. that’s impressive. i’m still shocked at how many people they send and how quick it was. we felt vip. the windows look amazing. we definitely see the value in the purchase and can already tell a difference. than you guy so much! we will be telling all our neighbors.

I’m very happy with the service from American Vision Windows. It all started when we stopped by their showroom on Miramar Road in San Diego. The showroom has lots of window samples, which really helped us understand the options. We were greeted by Bettye, who was amazing at explaining all the details of modern vinyl windows.

After learning more, we scheduled a home visit so she could assess our project. She arrived on time, was very kind, explained everything clearly, and gave us a fair quote for about nine windows and two sliding doors. Bettye also worked closely with me to gather all the specs and documents needed for our HOA approval.

When installation day came, I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently the crew worked. Mike, Alex, Erick, Sam, and Gavin were all professional, friendly, and easy to work with. The job was finished in two days, and the results are fantastic. The new windows block nearly all outside noise, slide smoothly, and look great.

I’m very satisfied and would definitely recommend American Vision Windows to anyone looking to upgrade their home.
