My experience with New South Windows (NSW) was a nightmare. My project that I was told would take 2.5-3 weeks lasted over 6 months. It took them 5 attempts to replace the windows on either side of my front door. 5 of the windows delivered to my house were improperly manufactured. They didn’t have all the pilot holes in the upper frame. NSW’s subcontractor installers installed them anyway. This resulted in a failed inspection for improper spacing of the attaching screws. The workmanship of the installers was awful. Screws were not tightened, some had the head sheared off. They installed screws into a thin section with missing pilot holes cracking the frame. A large piece of the top frame was broken off a bathroom window. The lock pin at the bottom of my French doors would not fit into the hole in the threshold. The door in my kitchen didn’t have holes for the deadbolt. Despite repeated requests NSW never provided door drawings for the inspector. I had to download/print them. During this ordeal I never heard anything from NSW management. No apology for the excessive delays or selling me defective windows. I got no reply to the email I sent to the factory rep that sold me the windows and the Jacksonville NSW manager asking if they would honor the warranty on my defective windows. I dealt with companies like this during my 43 years working as a mechanical engineer in the aviation industry. Bad process quality control and quality assurance of end items often result in defective products. I spent a large sum of money on my window replacement. I rationalized the expense thinking I was buying peace of mind. NSW robbed me of that with their poor performance on every phase of my project. There are many choices of window replacement companies out there. Any of them would do a better job than NSW. (1st pic shows a defective window. The screw at the top is correctly installed through the pilot hole. The screw at the bottom has no pilot hole and is seated on very thin section of plastic.
I love my New South Windows! From the time we signed the contract we were communicated with frequently and professionally. The install day was thrilling! The installers did a fantastic job. I love my new windows! They took the time to inspect and then clean each window. Their attention to detail is what makes this company outstanding!
